WELCOME TO SILVERSTREAM SCHOOL MOSGIEL

This is one of the things I love to do most. Tell people how great these children are, how dedicated our teachers are and how our whole team goes the extra mile for these amazing young people and their whanau!

Silverstream School permeates a feel of acceptance, kindness, care and happiness. Our safe and supportive school community allows children to take risks, push themselves and have a go. Mistakes are chances for learning and personal excellence is what we strive for. Learning to be the best we can be.

At the end of the day we are spoiled for choice with regards fantastic schools on the Taieri which makes choosing a school challenging. If your family’s priority is care, kindness and support OR your child’s interests are in the Arts, Sports or Technology then we are most likely the school for you. That’s not to say we don’t offer far far more but it’s a great place to start.

A recent Education Review Team visit was triggered by our high academic achievement and they continually commented positively about our supportive board, paraprofessional teacher aides and dedicated teachers. No surprise to me.

Modern Learning Environments

The research says that collaboration is hugely beneficial for teaching and learning. We work hard to create opportunities for collaboration to take place consistently throughout the school. The research is far MORE encouraging of teacher-learner relationships. Relationships are the key to all children’s success. That’s why we WILL NOT place large numbers of children in large spaces in the name of ‘collaboration’. Silverstream is a strong believer in intimate classroom cultures that put relationships first and foremost.

Extensive and Impressive Facilities

We have huge grass fields, several playgrounds and new all-weather courts for our children to inspire active play and learning. A performing arts centre, school hall, vege garden, orchard and kid’s kitchen help round off some of our favourite spots.
